Dr. Harvey Zarem is known to many as "The Dean of Plastic Surgery" and "Plastic Surgeon to the Stars," and is recognized for his appearances on television's "Extreme Makeover." After years of private practice in Los Angeles, Dr. Zarem is coming home to Savannah and bringing his knowledge and skills to the patients of Savannah Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Harvey Zarem is a native Savannahian who ventured out for his education before returning as a distinguished Plastic Surgeon. After graduating from Phillips Academy Andover, he completed his undergraduate education at Yale University and his medical school at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City. Following his general surgery training in Boston at the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital and the Harvard Surgical Service at Boston City Hospital, he completed his training as a Plastic Surgeon at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.
Dr. Zarem then joined the faculty of the University of Chicago as a professor and Chairman of the Division of Plastic Surgery before leaving for Los Angeles to serve as Professor and Chairman of Plastic Surgery at the UCLA Medical Center for 15 years. He has gained a national and international reputation from his many presentations at plastic surgery meetings.
Having enjoyed a private practice in Los Angeles, Dr. Zarem and his wife decided it was time to return to his native city Savannah. At Savannah Plastic Surgery, Dr. Zarem will continue to pursue his interest in cosmetic surgery of the face, breasts and body.
