Does a Breast Lift Change the Breast Size?

See More: Breast Surgery

Question: I am 28 yrs olds, 164 lbs wearing a size 36C. My breast sags horribly and I am very embarassed by it. I am considering having them lifted. My question is does a breast lift change the size of your breast or does it simply elevate them at their current size.

Answer:
That's really a terrific question. Lots of people feel their breasts look fuller because more of the volume is pushed to the superior pole (top) of the breast; however, the skin envelope actually is a bit smaller. If you are a full C right now, you would probably still be a C, but on the smaller side of a C, and might even be a large B cup in some brands of clothing. (Note that NO glandular tissue is taken away, but the loose skin is reduced.) A consult could tell you what you, personally, could expect from the surgery.
