After nearly four decades of plastic surgery practice in Savannah, Dr. Dan Deloach is retiring from Savannah Plastic Surgery on October 31, 2018.
“It has been an honor and privilege to practice Plastic Surgery in Savannah for the last 38 years,” said Dr. Deloach, in a letter to his many former patients. “You have further honored me by entrusting me with your care and I am deeply appreciative of the trust you have shown.”
Dr. Deloach and Dr. Lawrence Ruf founded Savannah Plastic Surgery in 1980, and the practice is now one of the largest plastic surgery firms in the southeast. Drs. Deloach and Ruf are also founding members of the Georgia southeastern Cleft Lip and Palate Clinic, the first such clinic in the Savannah area.
During his career, Dr. Deloach was honored to serve as Chief of Staff at Memorial Medical Center, where he was instrumental in planning many of the current services, such as Same Day Surgery, the 23-Hour Unit and the Hyperbaric Oxygen Unit. He was the first Memorial chief of Staff to serve two consecutive terms.
Being recognized as a leader in the medical community, Dr. Deloach was elected as an officer to the Georgia Medical society where he served both as Secretary and then President of the society. During his years as an officer of the Medical Society, Dr. Deloach, along with the Auxiliary, began the Growing Healthy Program in the Chatham County Public School system, teaching young children how to live a healthier life style. The Growing Healthy Program is now taught in twenty-three elementary schools in Chatham County, teaching thousands of children the importance of good health every year.
Dr. Deloach was elected to serve as the president of the Medical Association of Georgia (MAG) in 2011-2012. MAG is the state medical society representing over 7,000 physicians. He also served on the Chatham Hospital Authority and as Chairman of the Georgia Composite Board of Medical Examiners.
Dr. Deloach has spent nearly four decades here in Savannah, Georgia helping, teaching, leading and healing. He is a kind, caring physician who has dedicated his life to state-of-the-art quality healthcare for all. Dr. Deloach has a wealth of experience in performing cosmetic procedures including full-face laser resurfacing, liposuction, breast augmentation, abdominoplasty (tummy tucks), facelift and eyelifts.
