Dr. Deloach received the award along with his wife, Mrs. Cameron C. Deloach, at the Regents’ Salute to Education ceremony in Atlanta.Dr. E. D. Deloach and Mrs. Cameron Deloach are the first couple to receive the Regents’ Hall of Fame Alumni Award. They were honored for their commitment to health care through leadership, tireless service and fundraising. Likewise, they have brought credit and distinction to Georgia Health Sciences University through their volunteerism, philanthropy and engagement with alumni.
When asked to help GHSU build a new culture of alumni philanthropy, Dr. Deloach not only said “yes,” but also immediately conceptualized a team of volunteer fundraising “Champions” in Savannah and other regions of the state.
He does all this with the support of this wife Cameron, better known to friends simply as “Cam.” Mrs. Deloach is the leader of a special group of GHSU College of Nursing alumni, “the shining stars” of 1972. Outside of their efforts on behalf of GHSU, the couple has been helping, teaching, leading and healing in Savannah and in Central America for decades. They are both honored as kind, caring and compassionate health care professionals.
