Mole Removal

Question: I have several moles I want removed. Can that be done in your office without me going to a dermatologist first? I also want to know if they can all be removed at one time. Thank you.

Answer: All of our physicians require that you see a dermatologist first to prove that the mole is, in fact, skin cancer. If it is or if the dermatologist feels that it should be removed by a plastic surgeon, he or she can then refer you to our practice. We do this for insurance purposes--if you are referred to us, all moles can be removed in our office in one session. Thanks!

Freckle Removal

Question: Hello, I have big freckles on my shoulders (no where else) what can i do to get rid of them? Do I need to do a peel or laser? Thank you

Answer: We can see if spot peel techniques can do the job, but likely laser will be needed.

Burn Scar Removal

Question: I have had burn scars my whole life. They cover less than 30% of my body and are raised mainly on my upper legs and back. I also have a darker colored flat scar on my upper chest. Can you help me to find a way for them to be removed or less noticeable surgery wise?

Answer: Treatments start with topical steroids, moving on to injectable steroids, used in conjunction with laser therapy and as a last resort radiation. To properly evaluate your situation, we would need to see you for a personal consultation.

Keloids on Ears

Question: I have keloids on my ears from piercing and I'm going to the doctor to get steroid shots and they don't seem to be helping. Is there another way of getting rid of them?

Answer: Surgical removal of the keloids followed by injection of a steroid into the tissues and wound closure, followed with x-ray therapy over the next three days has been very effective.
